Hello! My name is Lisa. I am an aspiring worldwide nomadic traveler from Seattle, Washington. I have never been satisfied with the common structure of routine life and have fortunately come to the realization that I don’t need to follow it.
Ironically, only after college did I finally feel as though I have the time to really think about what I wanted to do with my life. Also amusing, my “revelation” that seems to reject normal life is really all about embracing life itself.
What’s the point of sitting at a desk all day just waiting for the weekend? I’d rather live for each day, even (and perhaps especially) if it means not fulfilling conventional definitions of success.
At the moment, I can’t yet decide if I’m lucky that my change in thought has come relatively early, or if I’m still in the young ambitious stage of life, thinking I’m special enough to manage against the grain. I’m fairly confident in the former though there is no way of knowing for sure. I could end up a true vagabond and wander the world, camping, and foraging for sustenance. Though really, that’s much more appealing than swiveling around in a cubicle.
Regardless of what may happen in the future, I have resolved to follow my true passions and continue traveling, meeting new people, learning as much as possible and really experiencing life. I also quite enjoy writing about my travels and many thought on life in my blog called Inaka Travel. Hopefully, it will inspire others to follow their own wanderlust and pursue alternative lifestyles too!
